Today was one of those days that just made you go hmmmmmm! It all started with waking up this morning to a very chilly house. Our house was 62.4 degrees. The furnace was buzzing with not enough umph to run. So we were once again saved by opening the oven door and warming the kitchen and living room with it. We were told by the company that comes each and every time we have furnace problems to turn the furnace off with the kill switch, wait a few minutes and restart the furnace. This being done, the furnace ran three cycles before once again deciding that it didn't want to work correctly. During this time, I made a phone call to the company that does our repairs and made an appointment for him to come. He said he'd be over later to take a look. Meanwhile, as the house was starting to feel chilly again, we would start the oven again. Each time we would start the oven again, the silly furnace would start up again. When the house was warm, we'd shut the oven off. The furnace would run three more cycles and quit again. Again, when the house was feeling chilly, we'd turn the oven on and then the furnace would start again. At 6:30pm I called the repair guy to see if he had forgotten that we called. He said that he would be at our house in about an hour. As I was on the phone with him, the furnace kicked on and ran fine. Then for about 2 1/2 hours, the furnace just sat and buzzed and never kicked on. When the repair guy came to the house at 7:30pm the furnace was working just fine. He reset the furnace three different times, three different temps and it still worked just fine. We did need new filters, and he put them on for us. The furnace was running just wonderful. So we were visiting and I noticed that he had his pants tucked in his boots with rubber bands. He saw that I had on a pair of knitted "Snow Socks" that my mom had made ages ago. I asked him if he was interested in a pair of "Snow Socks" and retrieved a pair for him. He thought they were fantastic and instead of us having to pay for the service call and the two filters, he said that he'd take the socks in trade. So we were all happy with this trade.
Some good news for a change: While Chris was out doing a friend a favor and an errand for us, I took a call for Chris. It was Black Bear Casino calling to say that Chris was selected for an interview with them on Dec. 9th at 11:45am. We are so excited about the call. Even though Chris has worked there before, the chance that he may once again get to work there would be so exciting for us!!! If all goes well, our stressful situation may finally be lessened. WE NEED TO PRAY THAT THIS GOES WELL AND THAT CHRIS STARTS WORKING THERE AGAIN!
Till later.....
