While deciding what to do for the first Round Robbin Quilt, I decided that I'd start one of my own. This block was one of a bunch of ideas I had for my own quilt. Its a combination of a Windmill and flying geese patterns. I saw it in a craft magazine and right away I knew what colors I was going to make it with. Something wild, fun, alive, and active is how I would describe it. So after finishing it, I sent it off to have another wonderful crafter put a round on it...
Round 2
The wonderful crafter added so much to my block. The blue behind the block is my curtain that I use to study out quilt pieces and blocks....
The interior frame really sets off my center block. It really focuses the eye to notice that first. The borders are a yellow with a tan-ish color added for a design. The blues having been sewn in that way also aid the eyes to see the center block. I just can't get over how imaginative the crafter was..
Well I finished my round. I thought of doing something totally outside the box. I don't know what I was thinking for sure, just different. I didn't want to put any black in this round because the first two round had black in it. I think this round would be beautiful in a quilt all by itself. It's a simple block on block with two stripes between. Simple yet intriguing none the less.
I wonder what the next person will think of this round. Maybe like, "What was she thinking!!!" Oh well part of the challenge is to make the next round either different again or maybe come up with a plan to make it all work. Good luck to the next crafter....
This round is very cool!!! The crafter appliquéd the flowers and vines to a solid black background. The Corners are black and white and really help continue the black framing around the quilt top. The time and stitches that was used to complete this round must have taken a long time to do. The flowers pull the fabrics from previous rounds into play again making one remember that they were used so that they don't get forgotten. The next round of options will take some time to figure out. My biggest worry here is that if I was to add my round, would it harm this new round.. Beautiful!!!

Round 4
Round 5
Here is round 5. This round was designed and color selected by my husband Chris. I initially wanted a red to be on the outside of the rounds to bring out the red center block. Chris then decided that he wanted the green, and the shades of blue. When I made the blocks and set them next to the quilt, the blocks all fit together perfectly. I didn't even figure in the seam allowances. So that created a shortness on all sides. Then Chris wanted me to put the white in those areas. I then continued the white on all 8 ends of the new blocks. This created a new look to the quilt. The Black round here has White and Black half square, so when I added the white to the ends of the new blocks, it changed my design. I then added the white border all around and this unique quilt is really something special. The reds are about the same color and the only new shade of color I added is the dark blue. I think this is really beautiful. I wonder what the next crafter will do with it.........
Round 6
This is round 6 on my quilt. As you can see, Alex and Sammy helped hold it up so that it could all be in the picture. This round was done with 9 patches and stripes. I really like the way this round was completed. It makes the eyes see the outside round and then straight to the inner black and white round. Then my eyes travel to the blue and red round between the two rounds. What a clever idea!!!!
To finish this quilt, I'm going to add a red "Frame" around the outside edge and complete it with a red back. I thought red because this quilt was started with red.
Thank you to the crafter that made this round so beautiful. Well the entire quilt really......

I like this Round Robin top. It is really cheerful and fun. Good Job!
The good job was yours! It leaves me with so many options for my round. My biggest worry is that I will not be able to enhance your round. It hasn't told me anything lately of what to do with it.
Its a mystery!
Now I know exactly what to do for my round! Wait and see!
That's the hard part. "Wait and See!"
Well I'll tell you the same, Wait and See what the next round of yours looks like.........lol
