May 29, 2011 - Morning Visitor

This was our morning visitor today. Yes he is actually sitting on my window outside of my dinning area. He's been back and forth from the tree directly outside the window, to the bathroom vent, then back to the window. He is a Yellow Bellied-Sapsucker. We've named him Bob. When we walk from the kitchen to the living room, he follows us, then goes back to the window..... He's beautiful!!!!

May 16, 2011 Pictures of the kids

May 16, 2011 I took these pictures of my kids. We couldn't afford to buy school pictures, so both last year and this year, I've taken the kids pictures. The day was warm and sunny, so it was a challenge to get the best picture out of everyone.

May 21, 2011 Dropsies vs. Sneezies

Well what a morning I've already had! As my title says, its been one of those days that I should have stayed in bed with the blankets over my head.
For starters, This morning as I rolled on off my bed, I had a humdinger of a sneeze. It was one of those sneezes that just kind of sneaks up on you. Needless to say, my pillows and Sophie flew across the room. Sophie was sound asleep and now finds herself almost in the garbage can in my room. My pillows were thrown in the closet. I can't remember the last time I had such a sneeze. So I thought to myself that today was going to be an interesting day. I then tried to go to the bathroom for my morning ritual and ended up dropping a new roll of toilet paper into the toilet. After fishing it out and tossing it, I sneezed again and hit the door knob on the bathroom door. That left a HUGE bruise on my arm. At this point, I both crying and laughing at myself. So into the kitchen I go for my morning cup of coffee. I grab my coffee cup and end up dropping it on the counter. Luckily for me it didn't break. I reach for the sugar and creamer and end up dropping them all over the counter. I go to grab the spoon and sure enough, I drop it onto the floor. At this point I announced that I was not going to finish making my cup of coffee and that today was NOT going to be a good day for me. So Chris finished making my coffee for me. So now I'm sitting at my computer getting my morning bonuses from the Face Book games I play. I thought that I'd be safe just sitting at the table..... NOT!!! I end up sneezing and when trying to sit upright in my chair again, I stepped on Chance's back feet which made him yelp. (In the mornings he sleeps under the table,) So after making sure he's ok, I try to take a sip of coffee. Wrong move there, I end up spilling coffee all over the front of me. (Definitely time to go back to bed!!!) I was then asked if I'd go and put gas in the van so that Chris could go to work. I reluctantly said sure. After changing my clothes, I get in the van and drive to the Little Store for gas. I get out of the van, grab the pump handle and end up dropping it into a huge puddle by the van. Luckily it wasn't turned on yet. So after pumping gas, I go inside to pick up milk and eggs. BIG Mistake!!! I end up dropping the eggs with yet another sneeze. So I ended up paying for gas, milk and two dozen eggs. Then I came back home. Once inside my house, I had to put the milk and eggs away. I did really well putting the eggs away this time. Now I've decided that I'm going to take a shower. Knowing what kind of morning I've had so far, it was no surprise that I dropped the shampoo. Only I dropped it on my sun burnt foot. Double ouch!!!!

All of this happened before 10am this morning. I wonder if I DARE try to make anything today. I can't remember when I've had such a duel of dropsies and sneezies....

Till later..... Maybe

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!!!

Today and yesterday, the dogs have started our walking routine. On average our route is about 2 miles round trip. Depending on which way we end up going, the distance varies very little. This time we took our route in the other direction from which we usually walk. This makes it a bit difficult because we end up climbing up the hill to come back home. Normally we walk down the hill. The dogs don't mind the change, however by the time we reach the top of the hill to our turnoff, all three of us are just about done in and long to be back at home. The nice thing about getting back into our walks is that not only is it good for us but, when we reach back home, the dogs are so tired that they sleep all afternoon and evening. Needless to say that I as well sleep especially hard at bedtime.

The weather today has been really nice. My yard is starting to show good signs of drying out. Right now the clouds are banking together and looking gray. It is supposedly suppose to rain tonight sometime. That I am not looking forward to. Oh sure, there are people out there that say we need the rain, but they need to come to my house and see that I can't handle to much more water. I say, let my yard finish drying out some more before the next storm hits.

I was wishing that I had clothes lines outside today. I have to do some laundry and long for the chance to hang it outside. I have a portable clothesline, but in order to put it in the yard, as I've said before, the yard needs to dry out first. There are a couple of trees on the "Wrong Side" of my house that I could run some lines, but have yet to do that. I need to find some cording then maybe I'll put up some lines. On our walk today, there were several people that had clothes outside. I am jealous of that ability.

Till Later....

May 2, 2011

Today Chris and I were finally able to go out for our anniversary. We had to wait till payday so that we could go, but it was worth it....

While the kids were in school, Chris and I went to Moose Lake and went to ALCO. We got to take our time wandering around the store. I think we finally saw everything the store has to offer. I even tried on a few new shirts. I didn't buy any because I didn't really like the way they looked on me. From there we went to Market Place Foods (grocery store) and picked up things the kids could eat for dinner. They were going to have pizza, chips, pop and a new movie (I got Shrek the 4th from ALCO). Then we came back home and waited for the kids to come home.

Once they got home, Chris and I left and headed to Duluth. Chris took me out to the new Texas Roadhouse restaurant. We had steak and sides, pop, and a deep fried onion thingy. It was good. Our dinner was pretty expensive for just the two of us ($50.35). It was good and hot, so we won't be in any rush to go back. From there, we took the time and walked completely around the mall. We haven't done that in a few years, so it was kinda neat what was there, and what wasn't. We've been talking about some things that need to get fixed around the house. In one store, they redo bathroom tubs and surrounds and things. They come to the house to do a bid and then after contracts are signed and stuff, they'd return and re-do everything that needs to be done. I asked the guy in the store about how much it would cost. He told me $4000.00 - $6000.00.  I told him thanks and then we left the store. Once back out in the walkway, I told Chris that I'll live with the condition of our bathroom thanks....From there we went to Cloquet to Wal-Mart and did some shopping for the animals and stuff. Then we came back home.

The kids were glad we were home again, and asked if we had a good time and Chris and I told them yes we did! Now that we've been home for awhile, Alex is in bed, and Sammy will soon go to her room as well. We had a great time and its good to be back home again.

Till Later.............
